Is it that time of year again for your vehicle or motorcycle registration renewal? Or has your registration expired beyond 3 months and in need of a Blue Slip Inspection? Why not arrange a while-you-wait Pink Slip (e-Safety) Inspection or a Blue Slip Inspection.

HP Automotive can take care of all your car registration needs. We are an Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) and can issue you with all the relevant inspection certificates, including Pink Slips and Blue Slips. We are also an authorised e-Safety check Inspection station allowing pink slips to be sent electronically to the RTA, permitting customers to leave us with a fully registered car.

What is a Pink Slip (e-Safety) Inspection?
A Pink Slip (also called an e-Safety Inspection) is a Road Worthy Inspection you need to renew your registration or obtaining new registration, in cases where the car has been unregistered for less than 90 days. If your vehicle is less than 5 years old, an e-Safety Check is generally not required. Your registration renewal notice will advise you if your vehicle needs an inspection. The Pink Slip is valid for 42 days and is a RTA approved roadworthiness & safety check on the most important components that insure your safety on the road.

What is a Blue Slip Inspection?
A Blue Slip Inspection report verifies the safety of an unregistered vehicle, while making sure it meets design and identity standards. A Blue Slip inspection is an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection. Blue Slips are not just for vehicles – lots of people forget about the boat trailer and caravan until it is summertime….and can cop a hefty fine just in time for the holidays.

There are several situations where this inspection is required before a vehicle can receive a Green Slip or full registration including:

  • Vehicles entering NSW from any other state or county
  • If the vehicle has been un-registered for more than 90 days
  • Any vehicle without number plates
  • To clear a defect or adjust records

What is a Pre-purchase vehicle inspection?
This is a full comprehensive inspection report which includes a complete check of the vehicle.
The inspection involves a thorough examination of all mechanical components, as well as the bodywork, paintwork and under-structure, for evidence of any damage or unsatisfactory repair work. The vehicle’s interior electrical components and electronic control unit are checked for any fault codes. The inspection also includes a road test.
